The National Association of State Utility Consumer Advocates, the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commssioners (NARUC) and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) are designating September 14-20 as “National Telephone Discount Lifeline Awareness Week.” Lifeline is a government benefit program that provides discounted wireline or wireless phone service to eligible low-income consumers.
